Ames Next Stop for 'Worldly' Big Man

Iowa State could have its frontcourt of the future in Ames this weekend, as a pair of big men will take official visits. But the Cyclones' newest recruiting target is much more well-traveled than Ohio high schooler Aaron Agnew.

Chicago (Ill.) Julian H.S. center Ousmane Barro will join Agnew on campus. Barro is an athletic 6-foot-10, 220-pounder who has been well traveled in recent years, but is now back at his original high school in Illinois.

The Senegal native has already taken official visits this fall to UNLV and Auburn, and had some interest in DePaul and Illinois as a recruitable target last year.

Barro's status as an ISU target could hinge on his grades, however. He may be considered more as a spring signee, and if some academic issues are taken care of could be one of two big men the Cyclones bring in for the 2004-05 season.
