McKenzie's Recruiting Gets Serious

An ideal linebacker with size, speed, explosion, and great lateral ability, Iowa State has its sights set on Riverview Garden's Tyrone McKenzie.

He will be making his first official visit this weekend as he travels to Ames, but will it be the only one needed?

"I'm going to Iowa State this weekend," said McKenzie. "They just began recruiting me over a month ago. Coach (Chris) Ash stopped by my school last month, and last night Coach (Dan) McCarney was in my home for a visit. I like the fact they play in a big conference, have a good school, and I could come in there and play early if I work hard."

While McKenzie seemed quite excited over his visit to Ames, there are still two large powers in the Sunshine state rooming large and an uprising northeast program to watch out for.

"UConn has also offered me, and I'm scheduled to visit them the following weekend. Florida has told me I have an offer, and I'm still talking to them concerning my situation. Florida State also told me they are leaning towards offering me."
