ISU Visit Influences Gainesville Athlete

TheInsiders' Josh Clark caught up with one of the highest-rated players left on Iowa State's recruiting board, and found out some good news for Cyclone fans.

The Iowa State Cyclones put the finishing touch on their recruiting class this past weekend. Gainesville, Texas athlete Chris Brown chose the Cyclones over offers from Oklahoma State, Tulsa, and New Mexico.

"I made my decision today to verbal to Iowa State," said Brown. "I liked everything on my visit. The people and the players were all nice. I just felt comfortable with the atmosphere, and knew that I could be happy there."

Oklahoma State had once hoped to sign both Brown and teammate Darcel McBath. However, in the end, they came up short handed on both prospects. Did McBath's decision influence Brown's at all?

"At first, I thought Oklahoma State only wanted me to help their chances with Darcel, but they continued to recruit me after his decision. In the end, Iowa State was going to allow me to play offense, and Oklahoma State was recruiting me for defense. I have the chance to come in and compete right away at wide receiver next fall."
