Agnew, Bellaire Seek Trip to State

Iowa State's freshmen-to-be are wrapping up their prep seasons. For an update on Bellaire (Ohio) standout Aaron Agnew, conducted a question-and-answer session with the BIG man.

CN: Where is your team currently sitting in the postseason?

Aaron Agnew: We finished up the regular season 16-4 and won our last two games and the sectional final. We won our sectional final against Monroe Central, 100-54. I had 24 points, 10 rebounds and three blocked shots. We play our first game in districts (Tuesday) against Conshockton. The way it's set up is we have two games in the district and will move on to two games in regionals, then on to state. We play a pretty big schedule and got second in our conference.

CN: What were your averages for the regular season?

Agnew: I averaged about 20 points, 16 rebounds and six or seven blocked shots.

CN: How would you grade out your senior season to date?

Agnew: It's going pretty good. I can't complain, we're still winning. I want to finish it out by winning a state title. My foul shooting has gotten a lot better this year, and just my all around game. The rebounds have been going up pretty good, too.

CN: Have you been able to follow Iowa State this year?

Agnew: A good bit, yes. I try to watch for the scores on Sportscenter and keep up on the internet and different papers they send me. I'm going to go out and work hard, so hopefully I can hit the floor for them next year.
