Tickets are currently on sale via the internet at www.cyclones.com. The ISU athletic ticket office will open at 8 a.m. Monday to take orders in person or over the phone at (888) ISU-CYCLONE [478-2925]. Residents in the Ames and Story County area can call the ticket office locally at (515) 294-1816. The ticket office will remain open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. National Cyclone Club members who have already pre-ordered tickets before Sunday can pick up their tickets, starting Monday at noon at the Jacobson Building athletic ticket office. The pre-ordered tickets are valid for both of Wednesday's games.
Fans who order online or over the phone can pick up their tickets starting Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the Hilton Coliseum box office on the south side of the facility.
"We hope we'll have a tremendous turnout to support both of our teams," Iowa State athletics director Bruce Van De Velde said. "We went with one ticket for both contests because logistically there were too many operational issues to address in terms of customer service and entering and exiting the arena. We are really excited about offering two games for just $15. We remember and the NIT remembers the great crowds we had for both men's NIT games last year. The WNIT people know all about how our women draw as well. ESPN approached us about playing the men's game against Georgia on ESPN Tuesday night, but we were unable to do that because Hilton Coliseum is hosting an ice show that evening."
The Iowa State men finished the season 17-12. The Cyclone women are 15-14. Wednesday's games will not be televised. Van De Velde said that if Iowa State wins either game Wednesday, Hilton Coliseum could host another round of contests Friday. Ticket prices and sale information for Friday games would be made available after Wednesday's contests. The winner of the ISU-Georgia men's game will play the winner of Wednesday's Florida State at Wichita State contest, at a date and site to be determined.
