AMES, IOWA - Larry Quant, the associate athletics director for internal operations at Tulane the last seven years, has joined the Iowa State athletics department as associate athletics director for business operations, Cyclone athletics director Bruce Van De Velde announced Tuesday. Quant will begin his duties in June.
"We are happy to have recruited a person with a strong resume of experience in athletic administration, especially in the areas of budgeting and business issues," Van De Velde said. "Larry's extensive experience in all aspects of financial management, including budget development, monitoring and long term financial planning will be a great assistance to our department."
Quant has been at Tulane since 1989 and was promoted from business manager to assistant athletic director for business in 1991. He was named associate athletics director for business and finance in 1993. He assumed duties under his current title in 1997.
"I am excited about the opportunity to work at Iowa State," Quant said. "I am looking forward to working with Bruce Van De Velde and working at a Big 12 institution."
Quant graduated from Colgate in 1981 with a concentration in mathematical economics. He earned a master's of business administration degree from Virginia in 1985.
