Pat Angerer Padded Camp Q&A

One of the top in-state players on Iowa State's radar screen is Bettendorf's Pat Angerer, who excelled during its second padded camp this week. caught up with Angerer after Friday afternoon's session for a question-and-answer session.

CN: What have you thought of your two-day experience at Iowa State's padded camp?

Pat Angerer: It's been a lot of fun. I like the coaches. I met with A.J. Haase. He's pretty cool and has already committed here. Camp has been pretty fun. I've learned a lot. I learned a lot about pass rushing. We do that linebacker versus a running back, and it's pretty fun.

CN: Do you feel that you improved your stock to the Cyclone coaches?

Angerer: Definitely. I showed them my speed and quickness.

CN: What's next for you on the camp circuit?

Angerer: I finish up tomorrow morning, then I go to Iowa for a day. Then I'll go to Wisconsin and Penn State, then will be going to Indiana.

CN: How has your latest padded camp experience changed your views of the Cyclones?

Angerer: They're definitely number one and are blowing people away. They're pretty far ahead. Some schools act like you're lucky that they've even offered you. The Iowa State coaches act like they're lucky to get you interested. I like the coaches; they're great people. I want to be a part of something.

CN: You were able to meet briefly with Coach Dan McCarney before he left for Iowa City. What did he have to say about you making a decision, or a timeframe?

Angerer: I met with him and he told me to take my time. He's pretty cool about that stuff. I kind of don't want to deal with the pressure during the season, so I'll probably make a decision after camps. I wrap up my camps on the 27th of June.
