Interest Picks Up for Fiacco

TheInsiders' Allen Wallace contacted one of the top offensive linemen in the Midwest for the Class of 2005, Hartland Arrowhead (Wisc.) standout Jason Fiacco.

Hartland Arrowhead (Wis) OL/DL Jason Fiacco (6-2, 307) has offers from Iowa St, Northern Illinois, Colorado, Colorado St, Western Illinois, Rutgers, West Virginia, Kansas and Central Michigan. "Everyone's looking at me for offense--except the Colorado schools," said Fiacco.

Jason's top five (in no particular order--he denies a favorite) are the Buffaloes, Rams, Mountaineers, Cyclones and Huskies.

Jason has already camped at Northern Illinois and Iowa St. He plans on making unofficial visits to West Virginia, Colorado and Colorado St this summer.

Jason says Northern Illinois and Iowa St are recruiting him the hardest, and that if he absolutely had to make a decision right now, good only for the next 24 hours, it would be one of those two schools. Jason hopes to make his decision before this season starts, after completing his remaining unofficial trips.

Colorado: "It's big-time football, the Big 12. My mom's been out there, and she says it's really nice."

Colorado St: "The Mountain West isn't a major conference, but they get lots of TV time."

West Virginia: "I want to see how Morgantown is--I have an aunt and uncle who live out there in West Virginia, who actually used to live in Morgantown. They're ranked high, the #5 team in Athlon."

Iowa St: "It's my mom's school, where she went. All the coaches were real friendly. It's five and a half hours from home. My grandma lives near there."

Northern Illinois: "I like the location--it's only two hours away. The O-line coach, coach (Sam) Pittman, I like him a lot; he's my type of coach, a real blue-collar guy. Last season they did real well. They're still in the MAC, but they did well and knocked off Maryland, Alabama and Iowa St last year."
