Brown's Recruiting Heats Up

Fresh off another solid performance with his AAU team last weekend at the Super Showcase and Nationals in Orlando, Richfield (Minn.) guard Ray Brown took some time to give CycloneNation.com an update on where his recruiting stands.

Although he was hampered by a back strain suffered earlier in the month, the 6-foot-5, 185-pounder averaged nearly 20 points in the two tournaments, including a seven 3-point performance in his final game of the trip.

"We just got back from Super Showcase and AAU Nationals in Orlando," said Ray Brown. "We went to the Final Four in the Super Showecase and then our team fell apart in Nationals and didn't do real well. I thought I played alright, but could have played better. Ever since I strained my back, my stretching has effected how I jump. I haven't gotten up like I used to and am not as explosive. But my shot has still been real good. I've been shooting pretty well lately."

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Brown's recruiting has heated up even more in the days since his return to Minnesota.

"A couple more schools have offered me scholarships," said Ray Brown. "Nebraska offered me yesterday and I got one from Dayton, too. I think I'm going to go on some visits. I'm going to go to Nebraska, Dayton, Oregon State, possibly Bradley, and then Iowa State for my last one. Minnesota is also right in there.

"I don't really have any favorites right now, but those are probably the five I like the best."
