Fiacco's Statement to TheInsiders

Jason Fiacco, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound offensive lineman from Hartland (WI) Arrowhead has given Iowa State his verbal commitment.

Fiacco released a statement this mornging regarding his commitment:

I am happy to say that I have committed to Coach McCarney and Coach Cotton to play for Iowa State University.

My Mom went to Iowa State and I have been a fan for years. I have always wanted to play in the Big 12 and play teams like Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas every year. It's a dream come true.

Coach McCarney and his staff are incredible and make recruits feel like family.

Coach Cotton is a great guy who is going to bring back a tough physical ground based offense to ISU. That is just my style and a perfect fit for me as I am a blue colar player who works hard and plays tough football.

Also, Iowa State is a great school with excellent athletic facilities including a brand new indoor practice field that is one of the best in the country.

I am also very fortunate to have been recruited by many other schools and would like to thank all the other coaches that showed interest in me.

My thanks go to all my family, coaches, teammates and others who have supported me and helped me reach this goal.

I am now ready to focus on helping my team get back to the state championship game for the third staight year.
