Exciting News for CycloneNation.com Readers!

With the 2004 Iowa State football season upon us, our coverage of the Cyclone gridiron is bigger and better than ever heading into our third season. Read on to find out about two new additions to our website.

CycloneNation.com would like to welcome to new contributors to its weekly football coverage throughout the 2004 season.

Former Iowa State football standouts Jack Whitver and Bob Montgomery have agreed to add their expertise and unique perspective to our website's subscribers each week right here at CycloneNation.com.

Whitver and Montgomery replace for ISU All-American Ben Bruns, who decided not to return for a third year now that he has accepted the full-time position of sideline reporter/analyst for the Cyclone Radio Network. We certainly appreciated Ben's contribution to the site the past couple of years, and his popularity certainly helped to launch our endeavor in its infancy. We believe Ben has an excellent future in broadcasting, and wish him nothing but the best.

Just one year removed from Cyclone football, we feel that Whitver and Montgomery will be more than capable substitutes for Bruns. Whitver will focus his energies on previewing the next week's opponent on Thursdays or Fridays, while Montgomery will review the previous week's game on Sundays or Mondays. In addition, throughout the season we hope to have each of them participate on our State of the Nation subscriber message board and premium chats periodically as well.

Bob Montgomery played football at Iowa State from 1999-2003. He is a former ISU team captain, three-time ISU scholar-athlete award winner, and was named ISU's lineman of the year in 2002. The former academic All-Big 12 and second team All-Big 12 lineman will now provide analysis each week exclusively here at CycloneNation.com.

Jack Whitver played football at Iowa State from 1999-2003. The former walk-on wide receiver from Grinnell was twice named an academic All-American, a three-time ISU scholar-athlete award winner, and earned his undergraduate degree from ISU in just three years. Whitver finished his career eighth on ISU's all-time receptions list and 10th all-time in receiving yardage.

In addition to commentary from Montgomery and Whitver, CycloneNation.com will also provide coverage of Big 12 football coaches teleconferences, Dan McCarney's weekly football press conference, team notebooks, and previews of opponents.
