"Wisconsin is a great team in the Big Ten conference and I think Joe Monty (DL) is cool. And Madison is a good college town," says Cooper, from Fort Collins. "The coaching staff there is great and are very interested in me, saying that they'll be there 'til the end when I make my decision…that I'm one of their top guys and they want me to get up there for an official visit. They want me there as a center.
"Iowa's always produced great OLs. Coaches (Kirk) Ferentz and (Reese) Morgan (OL) are both great guys, and Morgan works real well with his players. They're a good team in the Big 10 and I think that's a great conference.
"My dad played for Missouri so I've been following them since I was a kid but I wouldn't say they're a childhood favorite of mine. I do like the fact that they're in the Big 12 and they're a normally decent team. The Big 12 is my favorite conference. Asst head coach (Dave) Christenson (OL coord/OL) is really cool. Colombia is a good college town as well and I've got some family members that live there.
"Iowa St has been recruiting me the hardest by far and I've gotten to know coach (Tony) Alford pretty well. I realize that they had an off year last year but they're getting better. One of my teammates Derrick Catlett has already committed to them. They told me I'm their #1 guy and I've told them that I'll go on a visit there.
"Oklahoma St has a great coaching staff and coach (Les) Miles is a good guy…he's intense and I like that. They work hard over there and their team outlook is good for the next couple seasons. And Stillwater is a nice college town as well…not too big and not too small.
Cooper has no official visits in mind except for Iowa St and no timetable for visits or a final decision.
