Walton Plans Stop in Ames

TheInsiders' Josh Clark recently caught up with one of Iowa State's prime offensive line targets for the Class of 2005, Allen (Texas) High standout J.D. Walton.

The Iowa State Cyclones are set to receive a visit from J.D. Walton, a versatile lineman that can play anywhere along the offensive line.

"I set an official visit with Iowa State on December 10th," said Walton. "It is a Big 12 program that just keeps improving and is on its way up. Coach (Tony) Alford was at my school last Thursday, and told me he was excited to have me come up. My father and I just decided Iowa State was the first school I'd set a visit with."

Besides the Cyclones, there are two others that Walton currently favors.

"I'd say Iowa State, Arizona State, and Utah are my top three teams. I'll be setting visits with the other two soon. Texas A&M has been staying in touch with me, too. They told me they don't plan on taking a center, but with two of their offensive lineman likely leaving they may offer me late."
