Stinson Receives Preseason Honor

<b>AMES, Iowa--</b> Iowa State sophomore guard Curtis Stinson was named to the preseason Wooden Award All-American team, announced by the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Committee.

Stinson is one of 50 candidates to make the list based on last year's individual performance and team records. In mid-January, the Wooden Award committee will release the Midseason Top 30 on CBS Sports and will announce the 10-player Wooden Award All-America team on April 9, 2005.

Stinson, who was a first-team freshman All-American in 2004, is ISU's top returning scorer at 16.2 ppg. The Bronx, N.Y., native ranked in the top-five in three Big 12 statistical categories as a rookie (scoring, 5th-16.2 ppg; assists, 3rd-4.3 apg; steals, 5th-1.6 spg).
