Hamilton Names His Top School

Scout.com's Allen Wallace recently caught up with one of Iowa State's prime wide receiver targets for the Class of 2005, Oklahoma prep standout Marquis Hamilton.

Oklahoma WR Marquis Hamilton (6-3, 210, 4.7, 3 stars) now says Iowa St leads slightly over Tulsa, New Mexico, Missouri (no offer) and Oklahoma St (no offer).

"Iowa St leads just slightly right now," says Hamilton, from Edmond North. "And Tulsa is my #2 school, just behind the Cyclones.

"Iowa St is in the Big 12 conference…and that's a big conference. They play against some quality teams.

"From what I've seen, their offense is pretty simple. They're not too flashy or anything and I like that--they definitely get the job done. Other than that I don't really know much about them, but I'll find out more when I get down there (12/10 official trip).

"Tulsa is close to home and they offer a great education. I'd get a chance to contribute earlier there than I would at Iowa St. But that doesn't really hinder Iowa St's #1 spot. Tulsa is also a program that's on the rise.

"Coach (Curtis) Luper (RBs) from New Mexico will take an in-home visit to my house this Wednesday (12/1) to talk about setting up an official visit.

Hamilton will officially visit Tulsa (12/3), New Mexico, Missouri (if offered) and Oklahoma St (if offered).

Final SR (8-3) stats: 750 rec yds/4 TDs; 1 INT/2 FR

3.2/20 ACT/Feb retest--"I know I've qualified with my ACT score. I just want to take it again to see if I could do better."
