Oklahoma Athlete Commits to ISU

Iowa State's weekend of good fortune continued Monday night with the news of another football commitment for the Class of 2005. The Cyclones' latest get brings the total number of known verbals to nine.

Houston Jones informed Scout.com Sunday evening that he planned to take an official visit to New Mexico in January before making decision upon his return from his official visit to Iowa State.

After sleeping on it, Houston changed his mind when he called Cyclone head coach Dan McCarney this evening to inform him that he would be a Cyclone.

"I gave a verbal commitment to Iowa State this evening," said Jones. "It was just in my heart, and I felt it was more of a family atmosphere there than at Missouri. Coach McCarney was glad to hear the news, and told me he jumped out of his chair. I'm just ready to get up there, and help them take that next step in becoming Big 12 champions."

Jones selected the Cyclones over the Missouri Tigers.
