'Soft' Commit Minor Visits

Houston (Texas) Westside defensive lineman T.J. Minor made a commitment to Oklahoma State in August, but that verbal is now apparently a soft one as he is now visiting other programs. One of those is Iowa State, which hosted the 6-foot-3, 255-pounder on an official visit this weekend.

Minor returned from Ames and offered up a few comments on the trip.

"I enjoyed myself when I came up there," said T.J. Minor. "All the guys were nice and I got a good feel for the place. Brent Curvey was my host player. We hung out and went to some of the players' houses and got to know some of them. They showed me around the campus and stuff like that.

"Iowa State's up there. I got a good feel for them. They talked to me about my opportunities and told me I could probably come in there and play early."

But Minor remains ‘softly' committed to Oklahoma State, with a trip to Kansas likely during the month of January. UTEP and Houston have also offered him scholarships, but it's likely going to come down to OSU, ISU, and Kansas.

"I'm still committed to Oklahoma State right now," he said.

Minor finished his senior season with 93 tackles and seven sacks. He earned first-team all-district and was the defensive player of the year in District 21-5A.
