Prep DE Narrows List to Two Programs

With the recent coaching change at one of the top schools on his list, it appears one of the top players on Iowa State's list is down to two finalists.

Houston Westside defensive lineman Tyrone Minor gave former OSU coach Les Miles a verbal commitment late last summer, but a lot has changed with the program since then. Although the Cowboys went on to earn another bowl bid in 2004, they lost the coach that has helped get them back there.

Minor took an official visit to ISU the weekend of Dec. 10 – well before the Miles announcement – but still announced he was ‘softly' committed to OSU. That appears to have somewhat changed.

"I'm down to my top two of Iowa State and Oklahoma State," said T.J. Minor. "I've got a good feeling about both schools. I feel comfortable, the people are nice, and they're good atmospheres. I'll probably be making a decision in a couple weeks."

Asked if the coaching change in Stillwater has been a factor, Minor replied with, "It was a little bit of a downfall, but my recruiting coach stayed and the quarterback coach is the head coach now."

And what do the Cyclones have going for them?

"Iowa State has a good business program," Minor said. "All of the guys are nice and it looks like they have a good time together."
