Harris: In-Home Visit a Success

Iowa State has put itself in position to land another high-profile athlete from the state of Florida, but it may be a few more days until the Cyclones know if they have landed him.

Clearwater running back Jason Harris hosted head coach Dan McCarney and assistant Chris Ash Tuesday night. The in-home visit could play a key role in ISU getting a late addition for the Class of 2005.

"I'm leaning towards Iowa State right now," said Harris. "The coaches came down for an in-home visit Tuesday night. We talked about the program, everything around campus, and what they're offering me up there.

"They kind of got to know my parents and we talked about the classes I would be taking up there. Coach Mac shared how much I mean to the program, and I liked that. Everything is really looking good for Iowa State right now."

But Harris will not announce his decision until after an in-home visit from North Carolina in a few days. A commitment should come prior to signing day, however.

"I've got the North Carolina coaches coming Friday night and then I think I will have a decision by Sunday," Harris said.
