Cyclone Nation is looking for its next head writer. Someone who is self-motivated, friendly, articulate, and has a die-hard passion for Iowa State sports. Would you like to make a living covering your favorite college sports team? Would you like to get paid to go to Jack Trice Stadium, sit court-side at Hilton Coliseum, and interview Dan McCarney, Wayne Morgan, and Bill Fennelly? If so, we're looking for you.
If you're outgoing and love the Cyclones, we'd love to hear from you. Mail us your resume and a no more than 500-word cover letter explaining why you're the best person for the job to:
P.O. Box 3735
Your entries must be post-marked by June 10th. From there, we'll select a list of applicants by June 17th. You must be available between the hours of 3-6 p.m. for in-person, on-air interviews. You also must be available for trials during those times as well. Don't worry, there won't be anything embarassing, but we do have to test your knowledge, know-how, and work ethic. There are no education or experience requirements for the job, although it doesn't hurt to have it. But heck, I had no education or experience when I got into radio. What we're looking for is desire, love for the Cyclones, creativity, and raw talent that needs honing.
The contest runs through mid-July. Iowa State VIPs, KXNO listeners, and Cyclone Nation subscribers will have a say in who we eventually hire. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at CycloneNation@aol.com.
