ISU Women's Basketball Team Earns National Honor

The Iowa State women's basketball team ranked fifth nationally among Division I schools with a 3.461 team grade point average in 2004-05. The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced its 2004-05 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, recognizing the nation's highest GPAs in each division. Indiana State owned the top GPA with a 3.602.

ISU, one of just four schools among the top 25 that earned a 2005 NCAA Tournament berth, ranked third in last year's rankings (3.480 GPA). Iowa State was one of just two schools (No. 25 Minnesota) from a BCS league.

The Cyclones had seven players on the academic all-Big 12 first team last season and 13 student-athletes on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring semester. Fennelly's Cyclones have earned national academic All-America honors five times, district academic All-America honors 10 times and academic all-conference recognition 53 times in his 10 seasons at ISU.
