Iowa State sophomore goalkeeper Joanna Haig was voted to the Preseason All-Big 12 Soccer Team by the league?s head coaches and released by the conference office today.
As a freshman in 2004, Haig was voted to the Big 12
all-newcomer team and notched eight victories, the most for a Cyclone goalkeeper
since 1999. Her 1.39 goals-against average ranked second on ISU?s single-season
Haig, an Inver Grove Heights, Minn., native, was joined by fellow
keeper Kati Jo Spisak of Texas A&M. Other nominees included defenders Laura
Munnelly (Colorado), Sasha Andrews (Nebraska) and Tanya Dennis (Nebraska). Four
midfielders were chosen in Brittany Timko (Nebraska), Fran Munnelly (Colorado),
Elyse Nikonchuk (Mi! ssouri) and Carrie Berend (Texas A&M). Forwards are
