The Iowa State volleyball team will host North Dakota State in its final non-conference match of the season on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum. With a 9-6 overall record, ISU has already surpassed its win total from last season. North Dakota State, which is transitioning from Division II to Division I, are 1-16 as an Independent. The Bison will face Utah Valley State on Friday before heading to Ames for the matchup with the Cyclones.
Cyclones are coming off of a 3-0 win over Colorado on
Wednesday, their first conference sweep since 2002. Erin Boeve, the nation's
fifth best blocker, had 10 kills and nine block assists in the win over the
Buffs. Katie Churm chipped in 16 digs to lead the stellar defensive display by
one of the best in the Big 12 defensively, ranking second in blocks and third in
digs as a team. Against CU, the Cyclones held Allie Griffin, who entered the
match averaging 5.22 kills per game, to just 11 kills in the
picked up its first win of the season last weekend when the swept Centenary at
the Missouri State Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational.
Bison are led by senior outside hitter Kim Hebl, who is averaging 2.81 kills.
Bethany Boelter has a team-high 245 assists on the year and Kari Fagnan leads
the team defensively, averaging 2.98 digs.
ISU have met twice all-time, with the Cyclones winning both matches.
