Becker impressed with Iowa win

Tommy Becker was one of the 54,290 fans in attendance at the Iowa/Iowa State game and was surprised and impressed with the Cyclones win.

"The way the guys came out and weren't intimidated by Iowa was impressive," Tommy Becker said. "They didn't care how high they were ranked they just came out and hit them in the mouth."

Becker wasn't only impressed with what he saw on the field, but the atmosphere off the field was also impressive for the linebacker out of Wayzata High School in Plymouth, MN.

"The atmosphere was great,' he said. "I've never seen that many people in a college football game before so that was pretty sweet."

There was an estimated 30,000 people outside of Jack Trice Stadium that didn't go to the game.

As of now Becker is putting off making a decision about college because he's mainly focused on his high school season. His high school team is currently 4-1. Becker's Wayzata team beat the defending class 5A state champions in their season opener by a score of 35-14.

Becker is going to play the recruiting trail by ear and is currently unsure about when the decision will come, but the 6-foot-3, 230 pound middle linebacker is still interested in Iowa State.

"Iowa State is obviously in my top 5 right now," he said.

Other notable schools that are showing interest in Becker are Minnesota, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Another intriguing factor about the Cyclones to Becker is the personable coaching staff on deck at Iowa State.

"All of the coaches are really down to earth guys and I like that about them," Becker said. "Coach McCarney is a really good guy and a good coach."

Becker isn't set to make a decision anytime soon but he is weighing all sorts of factors here while choosing a school. Becker also talked about how location and possible playing time will affect his decision.
