On how big of game
It's another road opportunity for us. We've got to go out and we've got to win. If you want to be successful in the Big 12 you got to be able to win on the road, so it's going to be a good challenge for us this week.
On if the Cyclones don't win, are they out of the running for the North…
I don't think it will count us out of it. That's not our mindset right now. We're going in there thinking we're going to win because the last two losses it's not like we were out-right beaten, they were close losses. We know we had mistakes and we had opportunities to win the game so we know if we just go out and execute the way we're supposed to we're going to come out with a victory.
On how frustrating it is losing by a couple plays…
Of course it's a little frustrating. Some things you can't control, some things you can control. The bottom line is we know we have the talent to win so it's just going to come down to executing those few little plays and getting a few big plays here and there to help us get the win.
On not very many big plays from the ISU offense thus far…
Just keep going out and executing. I did all right the last few games, but I can always do better, every player you always have to strive to be better. There's so many little things you can work on, you're never going to play a perfect game and until you do you can always keep working to get better and that rarely ever happens. You can always go out and improve on everything whether it's getting a better pass set or finishing your blocks a little better, you just go to keep pushing yourself to do better.
On if he has any flashbacks to
I watched film from this year and I watched the game from last year and I feel collectively we are a better offensive unit than we were last year. I feel that once we start executing those plays a little better I think the offense will be a lot better this time around.
On how fun it would be to go down and spoil the Tigers homecoming…
It'd definitely be a great feeling to do that. Last year they took something away from us we really wanted. They really played hard and that's their mindset; that's what they were playing for and they did it.
On their blitzing defense…
The first, all five teams, they all ran a lot of stunts, a lot of blitzes and obviously it exposed some of our weaknesses, but when you see it every week you start to become more accustomed and more familiar with it. So together as a unit we're getting better at picking it up and recognizing stuff a little better now.
I don't think it was luck, we train year round. I really don't think we won last year because we got lucky. We won last year because we worked hard and that's the same way with this year, we're still working hard and those two games we lost we didn't lose because we weren't working hard. We just lost because we didn't make the big plays when we needed to. As far as luck I don't think it's a matter of luck, I think it's guys determination to go out and make the big plays.
