Solder high on Iowa State

Nate Solder is a 6-foot-8, 245 pound athlete out of Buena Vista, Colorado that is receiving offers to play both basketball and football at the collegiate level.

As of now Nate Solder has received offers from Wyoming, Colorado, and Northern Colorado but has received interest from Iowa State. Solder has also gotten an offer to play basketball by Dartmouth.

Solder said that he is leaning towards football because of having more offers but admits that he enjoys the sports the same amount.

Though he's yet to receive an offer from Iowa State, Solder is still interested in playing football in Ames.

"I like them a lot," he said. "I like how they play and I like the area. I like the Big 12 Conference."

Iowa State seems to hold an edge over Wyoming because Solder doesn't like the area of the country Wyoming is in. Though he admitted that Iowa State and him haven't talked all that much, the Cyclones are still at the top of his list along with Colorado.

Solder feels like his game has stepped up big time over the summer not only physically but mentally as well.

"I've improved mostly mentally," Solder said. "I've seen some diversity to some extent. I think this year better than last year I'll respond to that."

He's feeling good physically too as he's gotten a lot stronger over the summer. That's helping out his 6-0 high school team that is looking to make a run at state.

Solder is planning on visiting Wyoming this weekend as the Cowboys will take on New Mexico.

When Solder gets to college he plans on majoring in Biology.
