Pre-Texas A&M David Brown Q&A

Brown talks about this performance on Saturday and returning to his home-state of Texas.

On if Saturday has sunk in yet…

Not really, it's a blur right now kind of.

On if he showed us what he can do on Saturday…

Yes sir, I believe I did. Out there I read my keys, followed my blocks and did what I was taught to do, coached to do.

On going back home to Texas

It feels really good. Texas A&M is a really good team. It's going to be a challenge for us. It'll be nice to go back home and play in front of a few people I might know.

On how far his hometown is from College Station

Just a couple hours.

On if he's ever been to Kyle Field…

Yes sir, not as a player, but I have been there.

On what the environment was like…

It's very loud, it's a hostile environment. It's going to be a tough place to play but I'm looking forward to it.

On why he decided to come to Iowa State

I just wanted to see if I could make it at this level and give it a shot. If not at least I tried. My coaches at my other school helped me pick this university.

On remaining focused through his time here…

It was very tough, but I knew my role as a walk-on I'd probably be a backup. I accepted that and I was fine with that.

On remaining positive…

Yes sir, [Coach Mac] said never give up. Try your hardest each day. We're always being evaluated; it's a day-to-day process through practice and stuff.
