Pre-Texas A&M DeAndre Jackson Q&A

The Texas native talks about the return to the Lone Star State and former Cyclone Ellis Hobbs.

On playing at Kyle Field…

I've never played there before, but I've been to a game.

On the atmosphere…

It should be a great atmosphere to play in. They've got a great crowd. Playing back at home I've got a lot of family coming. I know a lot of guys on that team, so it'll be fun seeing those guys and playing them and seeing my family.

On the crowd…

It's a very exciting place to play. Their fans get it rocking. It's like going into Nebraska; they have a lot of fans too. Going into this game we'll be ready because of the big crowed Nebraska had. We'll be focused and not to much worried about the crowd.

On if he got recruited by A&M…

Yeah, I got recruited by A&M they offered me my junior year to come play defensive back.

On why he didn't go to A&M…

Here was home for me. I wanted to get out of Texas. I just really wasn't feeling A&M. It's a great school don't get me wrong but when I came here, just being around the players and the coaches and most of all Ellis Hobbs he just made it seem like home. I loved it here.

On going back to Texas

It's time to show up even more.

On having Ellis back last weekend…

It was great; we had a good time, just sitting down and talking to him again. To see what's going on in life. He talked to me, coaching me up; it was great.

On if Ellis inspired his kick off returns…

He just told me play like it's your last game; telling me things like that. He just motivates all of us to go out there and play.
