Students Gather at Cyclone Alley Kickoff

Hundreds of students gathered at Hilton Coliseum on Thursday evening to receive their 2005 Cyclone Alley T-Shirts and to watch the men's basketball team in a practice session open to members.

The students in attendance were extremely fired up and excited about the upcoming season. Cyclone Alley members also had an early chance to purchase tickets to the Mediacom Classic held at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

During the kickoff, students got a chance to watch this years squad in a practice session. The session wasn't doctored up for the crowd either. It was business for the Cyclones as they were all over the ground, hustling for loose balls and knocking down threes. At one point Coach Wayne Morgan stopped and repeatedly said "that is unacceptable," referring to the rebounding efforts by the Cyclones. The crowd was extremely uneasy when the coach was upset but got loosened up again when Tasheed Carr resumed his ways of being unconscious.

Cyclone Alley is a two year old student organization that is the official student section of the Iowa State Cyclones. Last year they traveled all the way to Lincoln to watch the Cyclones defeat Nebraska. If Thursday was any indicator, the Alley will definitely make its presence felt in 2005-06.
