Chris Carney Update

Chris Carney, a tall cornerback out of Mullen High School in Colorado has set up his official visit to Iowa State on Dec.9. Carney currently holds offers from: Iowa State, Washington State, Wyoming and Northern Colorado.

"I really liked it out there. It was nice. I'm excited about going out there again," said Carney.

Carney might be out in Colorado, but he's definitely keeping track of what the Cyclones are doing on the football field this fall. In fact, he witnessed the Cyclones upset of Texas A&M Saturday on ABC and was impressed with what he saw.

"It was pretty cool. Coach Alford sent me a text message afterwards. It was a really good game," said Carney.

So far in his senior season, Carney's high school team is 7-2 and one game away from clinching their third straight league title. Carney has 72 recorded tackles and two interceptions. One of those interceptions Chris took to the house that was 72 yards. The athletic Carney is also seeing time returning kicks and punts. When Carney was a junior, he had 110 tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery, and one sack. He was also named first team all-league.

Carney is a tall at 6'1 for a corner back. Though scout has him listed at 160, he has put on some weight and is now up to around 175. He plans on majoring in either business or psychology when he gets to college.
