Neal and Sandvig will Play in the Dome

Two future Cyclones will be playing in the 4A Iowa Semi-finals on Friday. Zac Sandvig and Patrick Neal are both major contributors to the West Des Moines Valley Tigers and will take on Dowling Catholic Friday night at 7:30 in the UNI Dome at Cedar Falls, IA.

The last time West Des Moines Valley met Dowling was on Sept. 9 where the Tigers won by a score of 28-21.

The two future Clones advanced after they defeated Sioux City Heelan at Valley stadium on Monday by a score of 30-7.

Sandvig rushed for 105 yards on 22 carries and had a touchdown in the game. Zac also caught a pass for eight yards. Sandvig has been listed as running a 4.4 40 and is being recruited as a defensive back at Iowa State, even though he's arguably one of the best running backs in the state. Sandvig is following former West Des Moines Valley running back Jason Scales as he too is now a Cyclone.

Neal has been working the line for the Tigers this year as he just transferred this season from his old school, Winterset. Neal was first team all-state last year for class 3A Winterset. Neal is also the younger brother of Iowa State basketball player Jon Neal.

These two are the only Iowa State commits left in the playoffs so it is your last chance to see a future Cyclone in a high school uniform in the state of Iowa.
