Solid Kicker Interested in ISU

Grant Mosier out of Clarinda, Iowa is 9-9 on field goals this year. Mosier kicked a 55 yarder at Iowa State's camp last summer and caught the attention of the Iowa State coaching staff.

Grant Mosier is a virtually unknown kicker from Clarinda, Iowa. Though not many people have heard his name, his record speaks for itself. This year Mosier went 9-9 on field goal attempts and has been 41-41 on PAT's. Mosier has kicked six of those over 40 yards. He's kicked two 47 yard field goals and one 53 yard field goal. Last year at Iowa State's camp, Mosier kicked a 55 yard field goal. Mosier is now starting to get a lot of attention, but Iowa State is his number one choice.

Mosier is getting a lot of attention from colleges, but not a ton of offers to date. He has one major offer from the Air Force Academy and Kansas is very interested. Kansas has guaranteed him a spot on the roster if he chooses to go there, and still might offer the kicker.

Mosier is not only a great kicker, but an athlete as well. Mosier led Clarinda in receiving this year and has broken the school record in the shuttle run.

Mosier has been trained for the last two years by CFL kicker Sandro Deangelis. Deangelis, who kicked for Nebraska thinks that Mosier has what it takes and has been vocal in Grant's recruiting process, strictly telling him to go where he is needed. He thinks it's necessary for Grant to go where he knows he can put up stats. With all of that being said and done, Mosier still wants to kick at Iowa State.

Iowa State has shown some interest in the kicker but not a ton. They were impressed at the camp last summer and were going to evaluate him throughout the year. We'll have to wait and see what Iowa State does, with arguably the best kicker in the state holding out for the Cyclones.
