McWhirter Plans on Visiting ISU

Sean McWhirter's high school season might be over but he's dead in the middle of the recruiting process. It's now time for Sean to make all of his scheduled visits and make a decision on where he will play next season.

Sean McWhirter's high school season is over and he's ready to start deciding on his college of choice for next season. Before he does that he plans on making numerous visits, and Iowa Stats is one of those.

"Hopefully I can start making my decision sometime soon," said McWhirter.

McWhirter's high school came to an end in the sectional finals of the playoffs in a 6-7 loss. McWhirter, a 6'4, 245 pound linebacker, out of Long Lake, MN, ended up the season with 75 tackles, 20 of them for a loss and 10 sacks.

Iowa State is currently in the mix with Michigan State, Northwestern, and Minnesota.

There are a lot of things that McWhirter likes about Iowa State, but he says that the most appealing thing about the Cyclones is the personable coaching staff. Sean recently attended the Baylor game this year.

When asked about the current winning streak the Cyclones are on, it will not affect McWhirter's decision when it comes to choosing a college.

"I know that however the team is this year will be different next year when I'm playing, said McWhirter.

McWhirter plans on majoring in either business or criminal justice when he gets to school.

Last season, Sean was named All-Conference, and All-State honorable mention as a junior. He also led his team in tackles.
