Blythe owns an ISU school record 16 career TD receptions, compiled in just 23 games. He has 46 receptions for 895 yards and seven touchdowns this season. The Indianola sophomore's average of 19.5 yards per catch ranks second nationally. In his career as a four-year starter, Leaders owns 259 tackles, four blocked kicks, 14 1/2 sacks, five fumbles forced and has recovered five fumbles. The senior from Omaha, Neb., has 38 tackles and a team-high 11 tackles for loss in 2005. Hicks has started every game this season and has four interceptions to go with his 49 tackles and seven pass breakups this Fall. Hicks, a senior from Clarksdale, Miss., was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after returning an interception for a touchdown, forcing a fumble and breaking up a pass in Iowa State's 23-3 win over Iowa Sept. 10.
Curvey has made 57 tackles this season, with eight tackles for loss and six sacks. Curvey, a junior from Houston, Texas, scored his third career touchdown Nov. 12 against Colorado. He intercepted a screen pass and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown to seal Iowa State's 30-16 win over the No. 22 Buffaloes in Ames. Dobbins, a senior from Nashville, Tenn., leads Iowa State with 96 tackles. He intercepted a pass deep in Iowa State territory against Colorado, preserving the ISU lead. Paris, a senior safety from Dallas, Texas, was the Big 12 Conference player of the week after Iowa State's 28-21 win at Army. Paris made two interceptions, one of which set up an Iowa State scoring drive and made six tackles against Army. Paris owns 182 career tackles.
The Kansas City Star released its all-Big 12 Conference team Monday. Blythe, Curvey and center Scott Stephenson, a junior from St. Paul, Minn., who has started every game this season, represented Iowa State on the first team. Leaders was a second-team honoree.
