ISU will face stiff competition again this season as nine of their opponents are also ranked in the top 25, including all four Big 12 Conference foes. Reigning conference champion Nebraska leads the Big 12 with a No. 8 preseason ranking.

The Cyclones return three gymnasts who earned All-American recognition in 2005, including first team honorees in Laura-Kay Powell and Janet Anson, as well as second-team honoree Erin Dethloff. ISU will also debut five newcomers to a squad that finished with a No. 8 ranking a year ago.

Iowa State will kick off the 2006 season on Jan. 6 at the Super Six in Baton Rouge, La. Their first home meet will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, at Hilton Coliseum.
