Update on Jan Gewont

Jan Gewont has named Iowa State as his front runner in landing the big offensive lineman out of Palos Hills, Illinois. Gewont will visit Iowa State this weekend.

Jan Gewont will join the huge list of recruits visiting this weekend and he's extremely excited about it. Right now, Gewont says that Iowa State is on the top of his list.

"Right now I'm almost positive that Iowa State is number one on my list. They're either one or two but they're at the top of my list," said Gewont.

Gewont, a 6'5, 280 pound offensive lineman talked about how Iowa State's bowl status in the past few years is a huge plus to him and he said that he's been talking to the Iowa State coaching staff a lot in the past couple of weeks.

"Academically they have the programs that I want and they have a really good football program. Every year they are doing really well," said Gewont.

Though Gewont said that he feels Iowa State is on top, he still plans on making three other visits before making his decision. Gewont will visit Toledo during the middle of next week. Then next weekend Gewont plans on making a visit to Marshall and he will visit Kansa during the first week in January.
