No. 5 ISU Wrestlers Head to No. 6 MN

Fifth-rated Iowa State (3-1) travels to Minnesota to face the No. 6 the Gophers (5-0) on Friday at 7 p.m. in Williams Arena. The Cyclones topped the Gophers, 21-12 last year in Hilton Coliseum and are gunning for their fourth consecutive win over Minnesota. Iowa State leads the series, 41-10.

ISU suffered it's first loss of the season to in-state rival, Iowa, 20-15, on Dec. 2 in Ames. The Cyclones picked up wins from All-Americans Nate Gallick (141), Trent Paulson (157) and Travis Paulson (165). All three are undefeated. True freshman, Joe Curran (197), recorded his third pin of the season in the final match.

Minnesota upped its record to 5-0 after beating Northern Iowa, 31-6, on Dec. 2. The Gophers are led by All-Americans Cole Konrad (HWT), Matt Nagel (165) and Mack Reiter (133).

Iowa State will return to action in Ames on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. against Cal-Poly.
