The Cyclones hosted the University of Iowa in the HyVee Cy-Hawk series in Beyer Hall. Iowa State was down by three points heading into the final event when the Hawkeyes took first place to solidify the victory.

to win the meet, they won the close races that we needed," said Coach Duane
The Cyclones finished in second and third place in the 200
medley relay with posting times of 1:48.74 and 1:49.14.
Chelsey Walden posted an impressive first place time in the 1000 free (10:21.43)
and senior Lydia Smirniotis finished second with a time of
"Chelsey Walden did a nice job. Her 1000 free was one of
her best times to date," said Sorenson.
Lauren Breunig, junior, touched
the wall first in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.46. Breunig continued
to win three of her other races.
"Breunig had an outstanding meet with
winning three races and kept us close in the hunt," said
Freshman Marni Benson led the Cyclones in the 100 breaststroke
with a first place time of 1:05.39. Sophomore Krista Fehl was close behind in
third place with a time of 1:06.00.
"I was very proud of the performance
of Marni Benson winning her 100 and 200 breaststroke races and posted lifetime
bests," said Sorenson.
Senior Kim Rogers placed first in the 200 fly
(2:05.70) and fellow senior Tami Ritchie touched the wall second with a time of
Haley Haynes, The Woodlands, Texas native finished second in the
1 meter diving competition with 259.34 points and sophomore Kali Fryklund
finished fourth with 225.30 points.
The 200 individual medley relay was
won by junior Lauren Breunig with a time of 2:06.85 and senior Kim Rogers
finished second (2:08.73).
The Cyclones will head to winter training in
Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., and San Antonio, Texas Dec. 30. The Cyclones will start the
second semester by traveling to Northfield, Minn., to compete against St. Olaf
on Jan. 13, 2006 at 5 p.m.
