Jeremy Gibbs Returns From Visit

Jeremy Gibbs talks about his visit to Iowa State and if his commitment to Oklahoma still stands.

Defensive tackle Jeremy Gibbs took his third official visit this weekend as he headed to Ames, Iowa to check out the Iowa State Cyclones.

"It was a cool visit," said Gibbs. "It is a real nice family atmosphere there, and everybody shows everybody respect. Iowa State told me they want me to come be a star on the defensive line right away as they have openings to do so. They said if I want it enough that I'll be to come in and start right away."

Having originally committed to the Oklahoma Sooners, Gibbs says not much has changed.

"I gave a verbal commitment to Oklahoma, and that is my intention. I want to take the remainder of my visits just to make sure I'm making the best decision, and then I will sit down with my mother to finalize everything."

As of right now, Gibbs has set his last two visits with Colorado (1/13) and Oklahoma State (1/20). He says he has been in touch with the Colorado coaching staff since the coaching change.

One ultimate factor in his final decision will be his mother.

"My mother is very involved in this, and every coach has come down here to meet with her. She really wants to make sure that I go to the right program. It is going to be important in how comfortable I feel with the people at each university, and how well they can help me to succeed academically will be very important, as well," stated Gibbs.
