The Cyclones have had mixed results early in the season but are quickly becoming more consistent up and down the lineup. Nate Gallick leads the Cyclones and is looking to complete another undefeated regular season. The top-ranked 141-pounder according to Amateur Wrestling News is 19-0 and will face 6th ranked Ryan Lang.
Northwestern is lead by super sophomore Jake Herbert. Ranked second, Herbert has accumulated 17 wins against zero losses – a slight improvement so far from his 33-3 record that earned him third at the 2005 national tournament. Herbert has a great combination of speed and strength and is a tough draw for any wrestler.
The "X-Factor" of the dual could be Trent Paulson. He has shown signs of maturity this year as he looks to improve on a fourth place finish at the national tournament last season. Ranked 2nd, he has beaten rival Joe Johnston twice thus far. His biggest obstacle to this date has been illness. He was sidelined for the Midlands Championships and hasn't wrestled since.
