McCarney Strikes First!

Colin Sandeman, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound, wide receiver, from Bettendorf, Iowa, had five Iowa State football coaches, including Cyclone head coach Dan McCarney, at his basketball game on Friday night. On Saturday, Iowa State offered Sandeman a scholarship.

"The Iowa State coaches came to my game on Friday night against North Scott." Sandeman explained.

"I called Coach (Dan)McCarney on Saturday and he told that Iowa State was offering me a full scholarship.

"I was excited. It's truly an honor to receive a scholarship offer from the head coach at Iowa State."

Sandeman had 840 yards receiving as a junior and was named Elite All-State by the Des Moines Register. Colin Sandeman will be a Midwest "Hot 100" selection in 2006 and has been nominated for the Pre-Season National 100 as well.

Sandeman did make one change to his list of favorites. Florida State has been dropped and Illinois has been added.
