Matt Leaders has his work cut out for him. His last name isn't the easiest name to live up to at Iowa State, but the 6'0, 195 pound linebacker out of Omaha is ready to step up to the challenge. In fact, he's excited about the opportunity.

"Obviously I have a lot to live up to. It was the same way coming into high school. Both of my brothers were big-time names in high school. I just have to come in and make a name for myself," said Leaders.

Leader's said that it's exciting to him and that it will give him something extra to shoot for when he arrives to Iowa State to join the Cyclone family.

"Both of my brothers give me a lot of advice and tell me what to be ready for," said Leaders.

When it came down to making his decision, it was pretty easy for Matt. Other than the University of Nebraska-Omaha, it was Iowa State the entire way.

"I love the whole program. I've been coming up to games since I can remember. I know all of the coaches really well. They're great," said Leaders.

Leaders is planning on majoring in engineering which was another pull for Iowa State when it came to landing Leaders.

Leaders is planning on running track in the spring to stay in shape where he plans on running primarily sprints. Matt is starting the Iowa State football workout program tomorrow.

"It doesn't necessarily look harder, but there's a lot of new stuff in there. They work a lot more on core strengths," said Leaders.
