Q & A With Randy Palmer

Randy Palmer is a 5'11, 185 pound defensive back out of East Central High School in Tulsa, OK. Palmer turned down offers from Texas A&M and Missouri to come to Iowa State and he said in this Cyclone Nation interview that he's happy with his decision.

Williams: Talk a little bit about how it feels now that Signing Day has come and gone.

Palmer: I really feel good about Iowa State. Signing Day took a lot of pressure off of me so I can now focus on my school work. I don't have to worry about next year.

Williams: What are you doing now to be in the best shape when you report to Iowa State?

Palmer: I'm playing basketball right now and when that's through I'll be running track.

Williams: How's your basketball season going?

Palmer: It's going well. We're doing alright. I'm averaging 12 points a game.

Williams: How did your football season end up for you?

Palmer: We went 13-1 and won the state championship. I passed for 1300 yards and 27 touchdowns. I had six interceptions I ran for like 400 yards. I had six rushing touchdowns.

Williams: With the offers that you had, why did you choose ISU?

Palmer: Coach Cotton was really good to me. I really liked how he explained the school and everything. With Barney Cotton and the rest of the coaches, it felt like it was the right place for me to go.
