Iowa State Women's Tennis Tops Drake 4-3

The Iowa State women's tennis team gains their second win this season by defeating Drake, 4-3 Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.

The deciding point came from ISU's No. 2 singles freshman Kara Hickey. Tied at 3-3, Hickey defeated Drake's Irina Kalshnikova 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

At No. 2 doubles, Hickey partnered up with Elizabeth Chermel to defeat Drake's Allison Wilkie and Kari Sloboth 8-3. Chrissy Derouin and Danielle Uscinski picked up the second doubles match to gain the doubles point for the Cyclones.

Rounding out the last two points for Iowa State were Danielle Uscinski and Eve Soriano winning their singles matches at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Cyclones return to action next weekend hosting Colorado on March 10 at 4 p.m. at Ames Racquet and Fitness.
