No. 10 seed Iowa State will face No. 7 seed Oklahoma State in the first round of the 2006 Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship, Thursday March 9 in Dallas, Texas. The Cyclone-Cowboy clash will tip at 6 p.m.
The winner of the game will play the No. 2 seed on Friday (March 10) at 6 p.m. The No. 2 seed has not yet been decided. If Oklahoma defeats Texas on Sunday, then the Sooners will earn the second seed. If Texas defeats Oklahoma, Kansas will occupy the No. 2 slot.
Iowa State finished the season in a tie for seventh in the Big 12 race, but lost the deciding tiebreakers to earn the No. 10 seed. Iowa State defeated Oklahoma State, 68-52 on Feb. 22 in Hilton Coliseum in the teams only meeting this season.
