Women's Tennis Preview: No. 43 Colorado

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's tennis team continues Big 12 play hosting No. 43 Colorado on Friday at 4 p.m. at Ames Racquet and Fitness. The Cyclones (2-3, 0-2 Big 12) are looking to continue their two-match winning streak from last weekend going.

Cyclone netters Kara Hickey, Danielle Uscinski and Eve Soriano all earned two singles wins helping ISU defeat Illinois-Chicago 6-1 last Friday and Drake 4-3 on Saturday. Soriano leads the pack with a 3-1 spring dual record. Hickey is also set to capture a third straight doubles win with partner Elizabeth Chermel. The pair are 2-2 in duals and 1-1 in conference play. Uscinski partners with Chrissy Derouin to a team-best 4-1 doubles record and are looking for their third-straight conference win. 

The Buffaloes (7-4, 1-2 Big 12) saw a two-match winning streak end with a 4-3 home loss last weekend to Kansas State. Before the loss they beat Portland, 7-0 at Portland and won at home against Texas Tech 5-2. CU is led by a pair of freshman, Ewa Losinski and Franziska Jendrian. Losinski has a team high 8-1 dual record while Jendrian has an 8-2 dual record and is 3-0 in Big 12 action.

Friday's match is Colorado's first Big 12 match on the road. The Buffs dealt the Cyclones a 7-0 loss in last season's matchup in Boulder, Colo.
