Iowa State women's golfer Christi Athas, a junior from Eldora, Iowa, broke the Iowa State 54-hole school-record on Tuesday, carding rounds of 71-70-72 for a 213 tally at the Northwestern Invitational. Athas' 54-hole total, which placed her fifth in the tournament, her second top-five finish of the season, beat the old school mark of 214 set by Lisa Meshke and Louise Kenney.
Athas also tied ISU's 18-hole school mark earlier this season by recording a 69 at the Mountain View Collegiate in March. She is one of five players in school history to record a sub-70 round.
Athas and the Cyclones will compete at the Big 12
Championship, April 17-19 in Lincoln, Neb.
