The following is a list of players that are on top of Iowa State's recruiting radar for 07 and a quick report on how they performed on Saturday.

In a Nutshell – ISU's Radar –Stock Went Up

The following is a list of players that are on top of Iowa State's recruiting radar for 07 and a quick report on how they performed on Saturday.

Mitch Houk – 6'7, 260 pound OL – Ottumwa, IA

Houk ran a 5.06 40 and appeared bigger and stronger than 260 pounds he's listed at. In a class that will be full of offensive linemen, look for the Ottumwa native to get an offer from ISU.

Kevin Thomsen – 6'4, 245 pound OL – Elkhorn, NE

Thompsen ran a 5.02 40 that impressed everyone at the combine. He looked very athletic and should get his first D-1 offer eventually.

Tyler Nielsen – 6'4, 215 pound LB – Humboldt, IA

Nielsen is a track star and he showed why on Saturday when he ran a 4.62 40 which is notably better than WR Alex Sandvig. He's big, he's strong and he's fast. He'll eventually join his teammate Hundertmark and get an offer from Iowa State.

Christian Ballard – 6'5, 265 pound TE – Lawrence, KS

Ballard is a huge tight end who has already committed to Kansas, but his stock went up drastically on Saturday. One Scout.com employee actually said that he looked like a National Top 100 recruit. I'd be surprised if his recruitment is actually done. He's committed to Kansas, but let's be honest, it's a basketball school. The recruitment of Ballard can't be over.

Fabian Brown – 6'3, 225 pound LB – Des Moines, IA (Roosevelt)

The dude is a freak. Brown's 5.0 40 time was solid and he's a big body who could help any team out in the middle.

Dave Molk – 6'2, 270 pound OL – Lemont, IL

Molk already has a bunch of offers and he showed why on Saturday. The center ran a 5.03 and is an extremely down to earth kid. He would be a huge catch for Iowa State.

Ben Porth – 6'5, 240 pound OL – Gretna, NE

Porth ran a 5.17 40. He still is yet to receive an offer, but both Porth and Iowa State have expressed interest in each other. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get an offer from ISU.

OL Help

It's no secret that offensive linemen will be a focal point to the 07 recruiting class and this will be a good year for it in the state of Iowa. There are numerous potential D-1 prospects in the state of Iowa that the Cyclones will have a great shot at landing in 07.

Coaches in Attendance

Dan McCarney and Kirk Ferentz were both in attendance on Saturday. Along with McCarney, Todd Fitch, Barney Cotton, Chris Ash and Brian Schneider were all in attendance.
