ISU Among Favorites For Jermaine Love

Iowa State is among the favorites of Texas linebacker Jermaine Love. Offers have been pouring in recently for Love but Iowa State is still high on his list. See what Love had to say about the Cyclones in this CN recruiting update.

Iowa State has offered a potential four to five star linebacker out of the state of Texas by the name of Jermaine Love. Love, at 6'0, 206 pounds is the flavor of the month in the state of Texas as he's received offers from: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Washington State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Iowa State. Love also said that Texas is on the verge of offering him.

So what do the Cyclones have in their favor for landing this highly touted prospect? The answer to that is easy. He's from Garland, Texas, also the home of DeAndre Jackson and Devin McDowell.

"I know that Devin is going to Iowa State. We're really close. We went to elementary and middle school together," Love said. "He says it's really fun up there. They help you stay focused. They have a lot of good coaches."

As a junior, Love recorded 135 total tackles with nine sacks. He also had 13 QB hurries and three forced fumbles. This unanimous 11-5A all-district first team defensive linebacker has listed Oklahoma as his early favorite, but Iowa State is right in the mix behind the Sooners to land this linebacker with 4.46 speed.

"They have a rising program. They have a good recruiting class coming in," Love said of Iowa State.

Love said that the Iowa State coaching staff is a huge plus for him when he decides on his future school.

"I like the coaching staff. They really know how to talk to the players and get them motivated," Love said. "I know that they have nice facilities and stuff. I like that."

Even though he's a top national football recruit, Love is also committed to his academics and says that will be a factor when he chooses a school.

"I want a good learning school that will provide tutors and stuff. I want to make sure that I can handle my classes first," Love said.

Love currently is planning on studying real estate in college.

With the offers pouring in, and the defending national champions knocking on the doorstep, Love's options are wide open in the recruiting world. When will he make a decision and where will he go? That's wide open as of now.

"Right now I'm just playing the field. I'm going to wait and see what comes my way," Love said.
