Mike Meyers- New York Yankees
Myers has a 1.80 ERA in five innings over his last ten games. He's struck out four while allowing seven hits and only one earned run in that same ten-game span.
Hopefully Meyers will start to be utilized like he was last season with the Boston Red Sox. In 2005, Meyers made more appearances than any other pitcher in baseball since 1996 and was one of the Red Sox most reliable pitchers.
While playing baseball for Iowa State from 1988-90, Meyers was an All-Big Eight selection in 1989 and helped Team USA win a silver medal in the 1989 IBA Presidential Cup in Taiwan. He also won a gold medal in the 1987 U.S. Olympic Festival with Team USA
Kalvin Cato -Detroit Pistons
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers took a 3-2 best-of-seven series lead last night with an 86-84 victory over the Pistons. The unexpected three-game winning streak for Cleveland from a 2-0 hole, may ultimately mean less minutes for Cato.
Cato has not played since May 7th while putting up four points and two rebounds in seven minutes in Detroit's game one victory. Cato needs to keep working hard in practice to make his teammates better, and his time will come.
